Job Description:
About This Role:
Research and extension programs for this position will focus on the
economics of water resources. Kansas faces a wide array of
challenges related to water across the state. Challenges include
the depletion of the High Plains Aquifer, sedimentation of
reservoirs, and degraded quality of surface and groundwater. This
position will develop a research program on water resource problems
as they relate to agriculture and the environment. Potential topics
include the demand and value of water, alternative management
strategies and institutions, the economics of conservation
practices, and the design and consequences of incentives and
policies. This position will also engage with local, state, and
federal agencies and stakeholders to disseminate applied research
and extension programs.
