JOB CLASSIFICATION: Regular/Full time/Flexible/Non-ExemptLOCATION: This opportunity is based in Westchester County, New YorkPOSITION REPORTS TO: Chief Executive OfficerORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW: MSP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, responding to domestic violence and human trafficking in Westchester County, New York, by providing multi-lingual, trauma-informed legal and supportive services. We bolster our work with clients by engaging in extensive outreach and community education, strengthening the systemic response to all forms of gender-based violence.At MSP, we strongly believe that integrating a world-changing approach into all areas of our work is essential to ending domestic violence and human trafficking. Our dynamic and diverse team of compassionate advocates is working to create a world in which every individual has the basic human right to be free from gender-based violence and to engage in relationships that embrace the principles of respect, equality, and safety.JOB OVERVIEW: My Sisters' Place (MSP) is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team. This is a pivotal and exciting opportunity to provide leadership, working creatively and strategically to further develop and effectively incorporate our goals and objectives and impact change on a local, state, and national level. The Chief Program Officer (CPO) plays a significant role as a member of the Executive/Senior Staff and provides overall administration, management, and development of programs. The CPO will identify opportunities to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities, playing a key role in guiding MSP's mission and organizational success into the future.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Program Development and Management
  • Provide overall management of all trauma-informed, client centered, clinical, advocacy, residential housing, education, and training programs
  • Lead programmatic development and implementation for the organization, aligned with strategic priorities and commitment to equity throughout
  • Establish measurable, achievable program area goals and objectives and monitor progress
  • Support multiple private and public grant and contract deliverables and reporting requirements
  • Promote collaborative relationships among program areas, and ensure that the expectations of clients, partners, funders, and other stakeholders are consistently met
  • Develop, foster and maintain a high-performance, inclusive, and accountability culture throughout program teams, aligned with core values and organization commitments to equity and inclusion
  • Work with program directors and teams to establish approaches and methods to evaluate program outcomes and leverage internal and/or external resources to inform program results, utilizing client database Apricot and other platforms
  • Stay current and involved with the local and statewide nonprofit community, research and develop new program ideas and pilot projects that incorporate input from the community and survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking
  • Collaborate with our Finance Team to budget and monitor programmatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and systems management. Provide guidance on budgets and expense monitoring to program directors and managers
  • Manage resources efficiently and effectively toward organizational goals, working with teams to balance workload and activities and support professional development goals
  • Serve as thought partner and advisor to colleagues ensuring programmatic strategy and operating in close collaboration with areas such as finance and development
  • Internal Partnerships
    • Cultivate relationships and establish partnerships among different program areas including the Center for Legal Services, encouraging knowledge sharing, resource utilization, and collaborative problem-solving
    • Supervise program directors to develop managerial leadership skills to engage, encourage, empower, and motivate program staff
    • Provide strategic guidance and coaching to program directors and managers in planning, program management and implementation for increased effectiveness and accountability
    • Coordinate the full life cycle of grants and contract administration, reporting and compliance
    • Lead effort to establish staff goals and objectives and measure results against programs impact, effectiveness, and other predetermined accountability metrics
    • Provide leadership, and support to program teams to enhance their ability to collaborate effectively and leverage internal partnerships
    • Determine staffing requirements to achieve program goals and objectives and participate in hiring decisions for new program staff
    • Collaborate to develop organizational policies, procedures, and protocols related to programs
    • External Partnerships
      • Develop and foster productive relationships with allied organizations serving the nonprofit sector in Westchester County, New York state and nationally
      • Coordinate with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chief Development Officer (CDO) on prospecting resources for new program ideas and pilot projects
      • Serve as a relationship liaison with key funders, including foundations and government agencies in partnership with the CEO and CDO
      • Represent MSP on relevant committees and task forces, as well as at speaking engagements, conference panels and trainings
      • Build and nurture strategic partnerships to leverage resources, expertise, and networks for programmatic success
      • Organizational Leadership
        • Participate as a member of the Executive/Senior leadership team and play a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, service delivery, and management of the organization across multiple areas
        • Provide leadership for organization-wide learning, development, and culture-building activities
        • Interact with the Board of Directors as a thought partner and liaison to board committees as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
          • Excellent communication and leadership skills
          • Record of participation in nonprofit coalitions and advocacy groups
          • Leadership ability at team and organizational levels
          • Strategic, cross-functional thinker with the skill set to move towards implementation and action
          • Commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and guiding principles
          • Proven track record of building and managing projects from conception to completion
          • Experience in grant writing and budget development
          • Ability to listen and effectively communicate with peers, staff, board, funders, and partners while managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
          • Commitment to collaboration and continuous learning at all levels of the organization
          • Consistent and goal oriented, problem solver, flexible and creative
          • Strong written and oral communication skillsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
            • 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a senior leadership role and nonprofit industry
            • Excellent communication and leadership skills
            • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various databases (Apricot)
            • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
